仏教学の立場から新時代の人文学となるデジタル・ヒューマニティーズの日本における形成と発展に尽くしてまいりましたSAT大蔵経テキストデータベース研究会は、今年で設立30年を迎えます。奇しくも本年は、SATデータベースを構成する中心的知識基盤である「大正新脩大藏經」の刊行が開始されて100年目に当たります。当研究会では、これを記念し、国際シンポジウム「仏教学とデジタル・ヒューマニティーズ」を開催する運びとなりました。
前日に続いて、この日の会では、仏教学においてデジタル研究を世界で牽引するアジア、欧州、北米の代表的な7プロジェクトの代表者を招聘し、最先端の成果を公開するとともに、日本の先進的なDHプロジェクトにもポスター・デモンストレーションの展示をいただき、国際的なデジタル仏教研究プロジェクトと日本の先進的なDH研究者が交流する場となることを目指します。
The SAT Daizōkyō Text Database Committee, dedicated to contributing to the formation and development of Digital Humanities as a new paradigm for the humanities from the perspective of Buddhist studies in Japan, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Coincidentally, this year also marks the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the publication of the Taishō Shinshū Daizōkyō (Tripiṭaka), the central knowledge foundation upon which the SAT Database is built. To commemorate this milestone, we will host the International Symposium on "Buddhist Studies and Digital Humanities."
On the day following the preliminary events, we will welcome representatives from seven leading projects in Asia, Europe, and North America, which are at the forefront of digital research in Buddhist studies, to showcase their cutting-edge achievements. In addition, we will feature poster and demonstration sessions highlighting pioneering DH projects from Japan. This symposium aspires to create a place for exchange between international digital Buddhist research initiatives and the advanced DH researchers in Japan.
